ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Christian Classics will meet on Tuesday, August 19th at 6:30 p.m. at the church for our annual Wiener Roast/Picnic (indoors with AC). Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join us for an evening of fun, food and fellowship. Bring your own setting and a dish or casserole and/or finger food to share. Hot dogs and drinks will be provided.
Study groups are now being formed to participate in our church-wide emphasis on prayer. For eight weeks these groups will study together a resource entitled “Love to Pray”. Groups that participated in the “He Chose the Nails” study are encouraged to re-form and new groups will be created as needed. If you’d like to improve your prayer life, please consider participating in this church-wide spiritual renewal campaign.
School, commission our Sunday School teachers and workers, and have a special blessing ceremony for children and youth as they return to school. We encourage all of our children to youth to be present at one of our services next week.
Next Sunday we will recognize the children being promoted in Sunday In celebration of Labor Day, we will hold one combined worship service on Sunday, August 31. Called our “Come-As-You-Labor” Service, we encourage worshippers to come to worship dressed in clothes that reflect your profession, occupation, hobbies or volunteer service. Those active in or retired from the workforce are encouraged to wear the clothes you wear to work, especially if it is a uniform or has the name of your company on them. Housewives can come dressed in what you wear to work around the house. Hobbyists like gardeners can wear their gardening clothes and volunteer or service club personnel can wear the appropriate identifying clothes. It’s our hope that you’ll stay for the Hospitality Fellowship time that will follow the service and meet others who share your profession, occupation or interests.
