Christ Community United Methodist Church Selinsgrove, PA

Christ Community UMC understands that children are not only the future, but also the present of the church. Studies show that most people make a faith commitment between the ages of four and fourteen. With so many activities competing for your child’s time, we know that we have a few precious years to build a strong foundation and we want to make every moment count.

Children are warmly welcomed into Christ Community’s church life. We offer many dynamic programs for children to learn about Jesus and apply what they learn. We emphasize excitement and fun as we help kids build an unshakable faith in a safe, loving environment.

Anyone who works with our children and youth is required to receive necessary child worker clearances, as well as annual training in our Safe Sanctuaries Policy.  Click here for more information.

We welcome and encourage children to attend worship service with their family. It is by watching worshiping adults that children learn to worship. Children will model the behavior they see as they grow. Most Sundays, a special Children’s Message is given to help children feel welcome during worship and relate to the sermon topic.

Sunday School at 9:40

Sunday School is available for children (and adults) of all ages.

If needed, a nursery is available for all children under 5.

Awana (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed)

Awana is a church-based community club open to all children 3 through 6th grade. It focuses on Praise and Worship, Bible Lessons, Scripture Memorization and Physical Activities. You do not need to be a member of Christ Community for your child to attend Awana.

Awana runs every Wednesday evening from September through April from 6-8pm. We want all children to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. We strive to provide a warm, welcoming and safe atmosphere for your children to learn key, basic truths about the Christian faith.

Feel free to join us any Wednesday – children can join anytime throughout the year! Click on the links below for additional information.

Annual Children’s Events

Throughout the year, a variety of additional activities are held for children including an Easter Egg Hunt, VBS and a Fall Festival.  Watch for specific details on these events!
